I’ve noticed a lack of Curaleaf product reviews, so I’ll be working to balance that out a little bit with a Curaleaf Product review series. This is the third installment and will focus on another strain from the slim vaporizer pen line.
In my experience, the Curaleaf Slim Vapes are a great product line to supplement any medical marijuana regimen. These products are not designed to be “heavy-hitters” for any specific medical condition, but they can be useful to relieve general ailments with a sufficient dose. There’s 150 mg of THC in the entire pen, so it is not a heavily concentrated product; it may be a good choice for novice cannabis users for this reason. It will take several draws to feel an effect if you have any type of moderate to high tolerance.
As is my standard, I will review this product on 3 criteria/ratings. The numbers from those ratings will be averaged for a final score and general statement regarding the overall quality of the product.
Curaleaf Slim Vape – Strawberry Cotton Candy
THC: ~ 30%
Total THC (per pen): 150mg
Batch #: TSV0417201801
I tried three different “strains” (more like flavors in this line of products): Blue Raspberry Lemonade, Tangie, and Strawberry Cotton Candy. Curaleaf states that these slim vape pens are made with “natural terpenes”, which makes me think that they are probably fruit terpenes. Regardless, Curaleaf does a nice job of emulating the taste of whichever name they choose for a particular pen. Strawberry Cotton Candy tasted a lot like the typical artificial “strawberry” taste, and indeed, there was an equivalent presence of the cotton candy flavor. These pens did not really taste a lot like cannabis to me, but they taste good in the same sense as someone might enjoy vaping e-juices for flavor. I found myself hitting the pen way more than I “needed” to due to enjoying the flavor.
Taste Rating: 4.00/5.00
The Curaleaf slim vapes are extremely convenient. The batteries are built-in and disposable, so the only thing required to use this product is to place it to your lips and draw. The major downside to the slim pen design is that there is no way to know how much product is remaining other than paying attention to the vapor quality. When there is almost no product left remaining, the vapor will become more sparse, harsh, and have a slightly burnt taste. Other than that, all the Curaleaf slim vapes I have purchased have functioned exactly as intended. I even had a 6 month old slim vape with a tiny amount of product remaining that produced a hit when I drew from it. As previously mentioned, these products seem more designed as “supplemental” medication and not a product intended to focus on any type of ailment. They are portable and convenient.
Vapor/Product Quality Rating: 3.80/5.00
The Strawberry Cotton Candy Slim Vape produced effects that were most similar to those found from medicating with a balanced hybrid strain. There was definitely a warm-body and relaxing sensation that became increasingly noticeable with higher doses. The cerebral effects were not too stimulating, but did produce a nice change in perception which made watching TV and playing video games even more enjoyable than normal. This would be a good product to take for outdoor activities as well. However, I don’t feel that patients looking to treat any specific conditions will find much success with the slim vapes. In all honesty, they seem best suited for recreational use; so in a medical context, I say they would be best used to supplement other products that are better suited to be a main/frontline medication.
Effects Rating: 3.00/5.00
Overall Rating: 3.60
I would recommend each patient try at least one Curaleaf slim vape pen for the taste if nothing else – all three I got (Blue Raspberry Lemonade, Strawberry Cotton Candy, and Tangie) had a very enjoyable taste, and each brought on relaxing effects. This product would best be described as “average to good”.
