Triangle Kush is a strain that actually originated in Florida in the 1990s, and is very well-known amongst many OG Florida cannabis users because of this. Triangle Kush gets its name from the triangle that is formed when you connect the dots of the three “Florida cannabis capitals” – Tampa, Jacksonville, and Miami – on a map.
MÜV’s Triangle Kush is one of my favorite strains I’ve found in Florida to date. Though my formative years for my cannabis experience took place in a non-legal state (not Florida), this strain reminds me a lot of the first “dank” or “loud” cannabis that I tried in 2009 and 2010. The smell, taste, and effects are all top quality, and MÜV grew this strain to near perfection.
Triangle Kush (Indica)
Price at time of review: $40/eighth (T2)
Lineage: Descended from Florida OG Kush
Batch/Harvest Number: BU200220-9571TRK
Total Cannabinoids: 25.24%
Unfortunately, MÜV doesn’t make their lab reports available, so I have no terpene percentages to provide for this strain. Whenever this information becomes available, I will update this section with the terpenes and their percentages.
MÜV’s T2 flower is $40 per eighth. Per their website:
Tier 1 ($50) and Tier 2 ($40) are selected based on potency, size, structure, terpene profiles and aroma. Tier 3 is based on size only.https://altmedflorida.com/product/copy-copy-2/
This eighth of Triangle Kush is one of the best growth batches of flower that I’ve found in Florida. These buds are so sticky that I actually tested them by pushing them up against the glass jar I keep them in, and then tossing it around and holding it upside down, etc. The flower stayed stuck to the jar the entire time.
This is also the most dense flower I’ve found in Florida; these buds literally make a “clink” sound similar to a rock when they’re dropped into a glass jar. Moisture content, cure, and trim are about as close to perfect as I’ve seen.
The strain itself appears to have visually appealing genetics, as the flower is a very light shade of green. (I know this is a subjective view, but I really appreciate bright green flowers as they seem to be more rare than medium and dark green strains.)
Fuzzy trichomes are easily visible, but the presentation of pistils on this flower is unique. I’m not sure if it’s due to the trim or the genetics of the strain, but where the pistils are normally longer and sometimes wispy on most strains, they are very short and compressed/cluttered in distribution on this Triangle Kush – almost in a way similar to the trichomes.
Anyway, this is a masterful grow, and most likely the best flower I’ve gotten for $40/eighth.
Appearance/Cure Rating: 9.50/10.00
Fuel. Gas. Dank. Fire.
Whichever adjective you reserve for pungent, gassy strains – it works for Triangle Kush. This is the type of strain that slaps you in the face with its aroma as soon as you open the jar. It will smell up your apartment or the area of your house its kept in if you leave the container open.
There’s different “levels” to gas strains though, so I will go more in depth. While the pungent gas and diesel terpenes are certainly the most dominant, there’s also a more complex secondary terpene profile. Those terpenes include a sour lemony musk, subtle pine, and a hint of sweetness.
I rarely continue to rave about a strain throughout the review like this as to avoid sounding sensationalist, but this eighth of Triangle Kush deserves the praise it’s getting. I love pungent, fuel strains. Everything about the smell of this strain reminds me of the first times I ever picked up cannabis that was better than the regular variety of “brick weed” that came in dimes and dubs – it’s just got that nostalgic fuel, gas smell that I can’t seem to put down.
Smell/Taste Rating: 9.40/10.00
Though labeled as an indica strain, I found Triangle Kush to be versatile and suitable to be used at just about any time of the day. I used it to ease into sleep last night, and I used it for a medicating session soon after waking up this morning; I smoked a little bit again before and while writing this review.
Triangle Kush is one of those strains that is “happy” above all else. The euphoria and calm it invokes are great. I think of it as removing a lot of the extra noise in my mind, and as something that helps me get to a state in which I am relaxed enough to be productive. Really, I feel that I am able to choose how the effects of Triangle Kush play out based on what I do. If I want to be productive, I start doing whatever it is I want to do. If I want to relax, I am able to do that as well. Triangle Kush seems to be a strain that allows me to control the experience of the effects more so than the effects dictating my experience – if that makes any sense to you.
There are cerebral aspects to Triangle Kush, but there is a noticeable relaxing quality as well. It can be a strain that makes you feel lazy if you don’t do anything, though; so – if you want to be productive while medicating with Triangle Kush, be sure you get up and moving before you’re too relaxed to want to move!
Again, these effects remind me a lot of some of the first “good” batches of cannabis I ever smoked. Hungry, happy, and sometimes sleepy. Great strain.
Possibly good for treating:
- Depression and related anxiety
- ADD/ADHD or focus-related issues (in lower doses)
- Lack of motivation (in lower doses)
- Relief of minor aches and pains (in moderate to high doses)
- General relaxation and euphoria
- Relief of minor GI issues: IBS, etc.
- Insomnia (in higher doses)
- Lack of appetite
I’m definitely no medical doctor, so please take the preceding conditions only as my own personal observations from using this strain and having experience with a multitude of different cannabis strains. Everybody is different, and every body reacts differently to various medications.
Effects Rating: 9.40/10.00
Overall Rating: 9.43/10.00
Overall, I would best describe Triangle Kush as an “outstanding, exceptional” indica strain from MÜV. This may well be the best eighth of flower I’ve gotten from Florida’s medical cannabis industry.
I absolutely recommend grabbing an eighth of Triangle Kush if you can find it at your local MÜV. It really is one of those strains that smashes it in every single category. The medicinal versatility alone is worth it, but the amazing smell (and cure for this eighth) really made it stand above most all of the other strains I’ve gotten so far.
Many more reviews are coming soon – especially as I find myself at home more and more during this COVID-19 pandemic – so stay tuned!
