Trulieve CO2 Vape Cart Review: Super Silver Haze (Sativa)

Super Silver Haze has proved to be one of my favorite sativa strains across the board. With clear-headed and invigorating sativa effects that never seem to get too stimulating for my comfort zone, I find myself going back to this strain time and time again for daytime medication.

With cannabis-derived terpenes that are specific to the strain they are named for, Trulieve’s CO2 vape carts are currently some of the highest quality carts in Florida’s market. I find that the cannabis-derived terpenes (vs. botanical or “food grade” terpenes) make all the difference in providing a well-rounded and balanced spectrum of effects that closely resembles what one would feel from medicating with the whole flower version of the strain in question.

Quick Facts:

Super Silver Haze

Lineage: Northern Lights x Haze x Skunk #1

THC: 83.5%

CBD: 0.9%

Batch/Harvest Number: FFOBBULTCN000004

Extracted from: Super Silver Haze (Kudos to Trulieve for actually extracting the product from the strain for which it is named. This did not seem like a common practice of theirs in the past – maybe they have been listening to us!)

Taste:

The taste of this vape cart was subtle, and did not really “capture” the essence of Super Silver Haze for me. I usually describe the smell and taste of Super Silver Haze with adjectives such as “bright”, “piney”, “harp”, and “sharp”, with citrus terpenes present as well.

I didn’t really find that taste in this vape cart. There was a hint of pine, but the overwhelming taste was something that reminded me of cologne, perfume, potpourri, etc. Using the batch number from the container, I was able to see that the only two terpenes present in this distillate were beta myrcene and terpineol, with terpineol being the terpene that would give the distillate the very fresh, “perfume” like taste.

The positive here is that Trulieve uses cannabis terpenes in their CO2 carts, which I find much more desirable than botanical or food-grade terpenes. All of the other strains I’ve tried in their CO2 distillate carts taste great and very close to the flower form; I suppose this one may have been due to all of the terpenes not being able to remain intact for the extraction and reintroduction process.

The taste isn’t terrible, but their other CO2 strains that I’ve tried taste much better.

Taste Rating: 3.50/5.00

Overall Product Quality:

Trulieve’s CO2 carts are slightly modified CCell-style vape carts that work really well. I’ve never had any clogging issues with any of the strains in this line, and the oil is top quality – no adding cutting agents like MCT oil, etc. The fact that this vape cart consists of only cannabinoids and terpenes makes it worth the higher price: $55 for a half gram cart (~400mg THC).

Airflow is some of the best I’ve experienced from any vape cart, which ensures that you become efficiently medicated. If you have a low tolerance, take it easy: these carts hit.

Throughout several months and trying out a few different strains, I’ve found that these carts are consistently excellent quality.

Vapor/Product Quality Rating: 4.20/5.00

Effects:

Fortunately, where this distillate lacked in its flavor, it makes up for in its effects.

Trulieve’s Super Silver Haze CO2 vape cart really does a good job of accurately representing the effects one would feel from medicating with the flower. The effects are true sativa: very cerebral, invigorating, motivating, and energizing.

I always admire Super Silver Haze for its ability to provide all these stimulating effects without exacerbating or creating any anxiety, as some sativa strains can do if the patient is not prepared for their potency. On the contrary, I describe these effects as very “even”, “paced”, and “balanced”. It’s got just enough edge. If Sour Diesel is your Espresso, then Super Silver Haze is your trusty cup of morning brew, whatever it may be; in other words, it is stimulating without being overwhelming.

I’ve always found this strain good for creativity and powering through a task list, and that holds true with this vape cart as well. As always, I used it to medicate before writing the review, and it’s definitely help me keep on track as I type it out. I don’t find much trouble with social interactions or going out in public with Super Silver Haze, either.

For me, Super Silver Haze is best suited for use in the morning or early afternoon.

Possibly good for treating:

  • Depression and related anxiety
  • ADD/ADHD or focus-related issues
  • Good for treating lack of motivation
  • Improves concentration and memory recall
  • Relief of minor aches and pains

Effects Rating: 4.40/5.00

Overall Rating: 4.00/5.00

Overall, I would describe Trulieve’s Super Silver Haze CO2 vape cart as a “good” product.

In my opinion, this was one of their weaker CO2 carts in the taste category. If you are a patient who factors the taste of a product heavily into your decision making, I would probably choose another one of their strains over this.

However, if you’re looking for the effects of Super Silver Haze, or just a good sativa cart in general: this is a good choice.

Personally, I will probably buy other sativa vape carts in favor of this strain in the future, but I still consider it a high quality product.

Trulieve CO2 Vape Cart Review: Paradise Waits (Hybrid)

Trulieve quietly introduced this mysterious strain in both CO2 vape carts and crumble over the course of the past week. A google search turns up next to zero information on this strain; however, Trulieve directly messaged me the following strain description:

Paradise Waits was created by crossing Scarlet Fire with Harlequin. This Sativa-Dominant hybrid yields firm earth green to amber gold flower with hues of purple. This resinous flower is accompanied by scents of pine and citrus with slight undertones of sweet mango. The flavor ranges from earthy musk to citrus with subtleties of cream and diesel. Due to the Harlequin cross in Paradise Waits, use will provide a CBD-like clear-headed sensation that has the ability to relax without sedation and provides relief without intoxication.

I found that Paradise Waits was a surprise “homerun” strain for me, producing some of the best medicinal cannabis effects I’ve ever felt from a hybrid strain, and having a unique taste that keeps me coming back for more.

Quick Facts

Paradise Waits

Lineage: Scarlet Fire x Harlequin

THC: 81.1%

CBD: 1.1%

Batch/Harvest Number: FFOBBULIJS000001

Extracted from: Paradise Waits (Kudos to Trulieve for actually extracting the product from the strain for which it is named!)

Taste:

This is absolutely the best tasting vape cart I’ve found during my year in the Florida medical cannabis program. The initial inhalation initially brings on dominant tastes of citrus and pine; after a couple of seconds, a very notable taste of cream is evident. That “creamy” taste is one of the most unique tastes I’ve experienced from cannabis, and it keeps me coming back for more.

On the exhale, I found the cream terpenes to be the dominant taste, with a bit of an earthy and piney taste lingering in the background. This taste is absolutely phenomenal, and I will be looking for the flower version of this strain, as I’m sure it smells amazing.

Effects:

Paradise Waits made a great first impression with its taste, but it absolutely won me over with its effects.

This strain felt like a sativa-dominant hybrid for me: perhaps around 70/30%. The relatively higher CBD content in this vape cart did help ensure that I did not feel too “stoned”, making it a great choice for the day – even when my task list is full.

Paradise Waits is probably one of the best, if not the best, strains that I’ve found to relieve my anxiety. I get a very “warm/cozy” feeling when medicating with this strain, and found it great for taking a walk, being on the beach, working, or really anything. I really feel this one behind the eyes, especially during the beginning to middle of the effect onset.

I do notice a fair amount of body relaxation as the effects begin to settle in, but never to the point that I would describe it as sedating or sleep-inducing. It’s just enough to make this a well-rounded hybrid strain good for use at any time of the day.

I can’t really speak enough on how much I enjoy the effects of Paradise Waits: if you’re a patient, you’ve just got to try it for yourself. This strain has earned a solid position in my top 5 favorite strains of all time – it’s that good. It’s some of the best relief from both depression and anxiety that I’ve found, and it’s motivating/energizing enough that I would say it’s good for ADD as well. This is a very medicinally useful strain that I highly recommend to almost any patient.

Possibly good for treating:

  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • ADD/ADHD
  • Minor to moderate aches and pains
  • Headaches
  • Lack of motivation (in lower doses)
  • General relaxation/relief
  • Relief of nausea and other gastrointestinal symptoms
  • Generally versatile strain

Overall Rating: 4.40/5.00

Overall, I would describe Paradise Waits as a “top-quality, highly useful” strain that is good for almost any patient at almost any time of the day. I’m wondering if this is an in-house strain from Trulieve as there is almost no information about it online, but regardless of its origin, it is now one of my favorite strains of all time.

I will absolutely purchase this strain in the future (in whatever forms become available), and would highly recommend it to other Florida medical marijuana patients.

Trulieve CO2 Vape Cart Review: Green Crack (Sativa)

After hearing about the Green Crack sativa strain for so long, I finally decided to cave in and try another CO2 Vape Cart from Trulieve. I don’t buy these carts regularly because of the $55 for price tag; when you’re only getting 400mg for that price, it’s hard not to just get an 850mg syringe of Truclear and fill up a VFire pod myself for a total of less than $65. I also had my doubts about the taste of this product after trying the Sunset Sherbert CO2 vape cart; fortunately, this product tasted much better, and the effects have been very nice.

Quick Facts

Strain: Green Crack (Sativa)

THC: 82.2%

CBD: 0.4%

Batch/Harvest Number: FFOBBULPLE000003

Extracted from: Jack Herer (Again, I really don’t understand the need to label the product as another strain. If Green Crack has a lower yield, adjust to that.)

Taste:

Trulieve’s C02 vape cart products are all made with natural cannabis-derived terpenes, so I expected the taste of them to be much better than their earlier vape carts, which are cut with MCT oil and food-grade terpenes. As I mentioned in the preceding paragraph, the Sunset Sherbert vape cart had me a little bit skeptical of how well Trulieve was going to be able to implement the cannabis-derived terpenes. Sunset Sherbert had a very earthy taste (to be blunt, it tastes like fresh soil), which can be accurate for some strains; however, the implementation in that particular product did not result in the most appealing taste.

I was pleased to find that the Green Crack CO2 cart had a completely different taste. It’s very fresh and “clean” tasting, moderately sweet, with the slightest hint of an herbal/earthy taste. Overall, it’s very pleasing, and I could see it becoming an issue for patients to dose more than usual with this product for that reason. Leafly mentions the three main tastes as “earthy, citrus, and sweet”. I would have to say that sweet was the primary tase of those three, citrus is not really present at all (at least for me), and the earthy taste was very subtle.

Vapor and Product Quality

The Trulieve CO2 carts are all CCell carts with the small rubber bands of various colors to denote which strain or ratio the cart is. Airflow is exceptionally good with these carts and possibly the best in the program that I’ve yet tried. The carts may look like they aren’t full; my Trulieve always has a package insert in my bag when I buy these carts that states the appearance of any lack of product is due to the efficient absorption of the CCell carts. These carts already seem to burn pretty fast due to how well the air flows, so I’m a little cautious about fully believing this, but online research seems to indicate this is true.

The vapor on this product always makes me cough. Every time. It doesn’t matter if I take a one second drag or if I inhale for five seconds – I am going to go into a coughing fit. This is strange for me because I generally have a good tolerance to cannabis products and rarely cough; perhaps some of the terpenes in Green Crack are causing this. I don’t necessarily find coughing to be a bad thing, though, as it seems I am always more efficiently medicated afterward vs. not coughing at all.

Vapor/Product Quaity Rating: 3.90/5.00

Effects:

I’m very pleased with the effects I’ve been getting from the Green Crack CO2 cart. This strain induces a very controlled, almost calm, focus. I find that I am able to organize and categorize my thoughts very well after medicating, leading me to believe that this product would be really good for patients looking for alternative treatment for ADD and ADHD. Green Crack does not necessarily give me a significant amount of euphoria, but it does leave me feeling generally calm and at ease, which is not what I would expect based off of the strain name. I honestly don’t know why this strain is called Green Crack, unless the flower brings on different effects; Jack Herer and Sour Diesel both have given me much more racy effects than Green Crack. The only sativa in the program that I’ve found to be an even more mellow sativa would be Colombian Gold.

The focus and productivity this strain brings is outstanding, though. I primarily vape Clementine Truclear during the day to help with my depression, anxiety, and occasional ADD symptoms; after trying this Green Crack vape cart, I may have a close contender for my main daytime medication in the near future. The only superiority that I would say I find in Clementine is its euphoric qualities seem to be more notable and better for treating depression. The effects from the Green Crack CO2 vape cart are definitely top tier.

Effects Rating: 4.40/5.00

Overall Rating: 4.10/5.00

The Green Crack CO2 Vape Cart from Trulieve is a product that I would best describe as “exceptionally good”. The one thing that would make this product even better would be a price reduction down to $40 or $45; I am really hoping that victories in court trials on the unconstitutionality of the current Florida medical cannabis law will drive prices across the state downward in 2019. Other than that, I’d definitely recommend giving this product a try.
