Trulieve TruCRMBL Review: Green Crack (Sativa)

Green Crack is now the first strain that I’ve tried in multiple forms from Trulieve: first the CO2 vape cart, then flower, and now in crumble concentrate form. It’s been interesting to see how the different forms of the same strain compare to each other, but I can say one thing with certainty now: Green Crack is one of my top 3 favorite sativa strains, and has proved to have consistent taste and medicinal effects from the 3 different forms I have tried.

Another thing I can say with certainty: Green Crack, in my experience, is not an accurate name for this strain. I’ve found several other sativa strains that have more stimulating and “speedy” effects; I would say that Green Crack works more like an 80/20% sativa-dominant hybrid for me, similar to Colombian Gold.

Appearance/Feel

This batch of crumble had a few variations among its different pieces. Some pieces were lighter in color and harder in texture, others were slightly darker in color and soft in texture, and some were somewhere in between the two. I also noticed a few small black flecks in a few pieces; I assume this to be an artifact of some sort left over from the production process. The black flecks are the one factor that kept me from giving this product a higher score in this category.

Other than those inconsistencies (which are more cosmetic/aesthetic for me rather than being detrimental to the product’s medicinal value), this is another nicely produced batch of crumble from Trulieve. A flashlight reveals each piece is absolutely covered in sparkling cannabinoid crystals. Well done!

Smell/Taste

Green Crack has proven pretty much entirely consistent in this category across all forms of medication. When I took the first puff out of Trulieve’s (R)Evolve concentrate pen, I was actually quite surprised at how close the vaporized crumble tasted in comparison to the CO2 vape cart that I’d tried a few months back. The main difference was that the crumble was obviously more flavorful; I made a comment about not being able to notice much, if any citrus terpene taste in the CO2 vape cart. That is not the case with the Green Crack Crumble; like its flower form, the taste is predominated by sweet citrus terpenes, and accentuated with herbal and earthy undertones. This strain is always enjoyable in the smell/taste category.

Smell/Taste Rating: 4.20/5.00

Effects/Medical Use

As I’ve said before, Green Crack is by no means the most stimulating or energizing sativa strain that I’ve tried. It does provide an energized and motivated focus, but there’s also a calming and relaxing quality as well, which is why I’ve said on many occasions that I find Green Crack to behave more like a sativa-dominant hybrid than a pure sativa.

That being said, I really enjoy Green Crack for this reason, as I find more versatility in the time of day I am able to medicate with it. Energizing, “speedy” sativa strains like Jack Herer and Sour Diesel tend to be most enjoyable for me personally when used early in the morning, or before setting out to complete a complex or lengthy task. In contrast, Green Crack is great in the morning, afternoon, and even the early evening hours; this is not a strain that keeps me “up” and energized for several hours after consumption. In fact, I find the comedown from Green Crack to be relaxing and soothing, and often use it in the early evening when I get home from work – as I would with most any hybrid strain.

This is a well rounded strain. Sativa enthusiasts will enjoy it, but it’s also suitable for patients who want to try a sativa without as much risk of experiencing sativa-induced anxiety or other undesirable side effects.

Possibly good for treating:

  • Depression and related anxiety
  • Lack of motivation
  • Good for general relaxation
  • ADHD/ADD symptoms
  • Relief of minor aches and pains

I’m definitely no medical doctor, so please take the preceding conditions only as my own personal observations from using this strain and having experience with a multitude of different cannabis strains. Every body is different, and every body reacts different to various medications.

Effects Rating: 4.30/5.00

Overall Rating: 4.17/5.00

Overall, I would best describe Green Crack as an “excellent” strain.

Green Crack has consistently performed well in treating my depression, anxiety, and mild ADD. It’s a strain that I’ve enjoyed as a vape cart, in flower, and now in crumble form. This is definitely a strain that I consider to be one of my main lines of medication, and it’s a strain that I will continually purchase again in the future. If you’re looking for a well-rounded strain to relieve your depression and anxiety without giving you “too much” of a speedy boost, I’d (somewhat ironically) highly recommend Green Crack.

Trulieve Flower Review: Green Crack (Sativa)

Trulieve released the first few batches of this strain in TruFlower during mid to late 2018; unfortunately, I wasn’t able to catch it in stock during that time, and it hasn’t been available for a few months. Thankfully, another batch was released last week; at $45/eighth, it’s one of the lower-priced flower options in the Florida cannabis industry.

Green Crack gained some notoriety in the mid 2010’s as an invigorating and energizing motivational sativa; rumor has it that the strain name came from Snoop Dogg after he sampled its potent sativa characteristics.

I originally tried this strain in Trulieve’s CO2 vape carts with cannabis-derived terpenes (review of that product can be found here). I really enjoyed Green Crack in distillate form, and have really been looking forward to trying its natural flower form. I’m pleased to say it has delivered – on all accounts.

710.5 mg THC/3.5g

0.0 mg CBD/3.5g

20.3% THC

0.00% CBD

Appearance/Feel

Trulieve has been on a roll of better curing quality for the past couple of months, and this batch of Green Crack is yet another quality grow. The moisture content is nearly perfect as the buds are sticky and slightly difficult to break down, but not so damp that it has issues with burning. This strain is medium to light green with areas of light green and a golden yellow hue, all covered in an abundance of bright orange pistils.

While the recent batch of Lemon Tree that I picked up was absolutely covered in kief (cannabinoid crystals), this batch of Green Crack isn’t quite as covered; however, any type of flashlight or bright lighting reveals flower that is covered in sparkling crystals.

This is, again, a good grow. Trulieve – thanks for listening to the patients and continually improving the quality of your flower.

Smell/Taste

Opening a jar of Green Crack brings a sharp, sweet and fruity citrus smell that seems to carry itself across the room quite efficiently. The sweet/sour and fruity citrus terpenes are definitely the dominant ones, but there is also an underlying earthiness to this strain as well. To me, Green Crack seems like a mix of terpenes from Colombian Gold, Sour Diesel, and Super Silver Haze.

Vaporizing and/or smoking this strain yields similar results for the taste. Fruity, sweet and sour citrus dominates, with an underlying earthy terpene(s). This has been one of my favorite sativa strains in the smell/taste category.

Smell/Taste Rating: 4.20/5.00

Effects/Medical Use

Green Crack is definitely an energizing sativa. I wouldn’t say that it is quite as energizing as Sour Diesel or Jack Herer, but it’s more energizing than Super Silver Haze and Colombian Gold. In lower doses, the patient can expect to feel a clean boost of energy, focus, and motivation. In heavier doses, some body relaxation and “sluggish” movement can be felt as well, which I found surprising for a strain with “crack” in its name. (Amongst friends – this is not my favorite strain name.)

I do find the effects of Green Crack to be enjoyable and among some of my favorite of effects I’ve felt from sativa strains. It’s great for morning and early afternoon use, but due to the fact that it can be slightly relaxing in higher doses, it can be even be good for rolling a joint in the late afternoon for a “second wind” type of invigoration. This strain can be harnessed for motivation and/or creativity, making it a great choice for general productivity and relieving lack of motivation.

Possibly good for treating:

  • Depression
  • Minor aches and pains
  • Lack of motivation
  • ADD/ADHD symptoms
  • General relaxation/relief (in higher doses)

I’m definitely no medical doctor, so please take the preceding conditions only as my own personal observations from using this strain and having experience with a multitude of different cannabis strains. Every body is different, and every body reacts different to various medications.

Effects Rating: 4.30/5.00

Overall Rating: 4.20/5.00

Overall, I would best describe Green Crack as an “excellent” sativa strain.

The sole “negative” factor of this product is that it currently costs $45/eighth. Though it is one of the lower priced flower options in the state, it’s still among some of the highest priced medicinal cannabis flower in the country, and is a perfect example of why vertical integration of Medical Marijuana Treatment Centers in Florida needs to come to an end – soon.

Other than that, this strain absolutely impressed me; I enjoyed it so much that I am purchasing the crumble version of it this weekend. Reviews for that and two other crumble strains will be coming soon, so be sure to stay tuned to this page and our various social media for the latest updates.

Definitely give Green Crack flower a try, especially if you enjoy energizing sativa strains. I will definitely buy more of this flower in the future.

Trulieve CO2 Vape Cart Review: Green Crack (Sativa)

After hearing about the Green Crack sativa strain for so long, I finally decided to cave in and try another CO2 Vape Cart from Trulieve. I don’t buy these carts regularly because of the $55 for price tag; when you’re only getting 400mg for that price, it’s hard not to just get an 850mg syringe of Truclear and fill up a VFire pod myself for a total of less than $65. I also had my doubts about the taste of this product after trying the Sunset Sherbert CO2 vape cart; fortunately, this product tasted much better, and the effects have been very nice.

Quick Facts

Strain: Green Crack (Sativa)

THC: 82.2%

CBD: 0.4%

Batch/Harvest Number: FFOBBULPLE000003

Extracted from: Jack Herer (Again, I really don’t understand the need to label the product as another strain. If Green Crack has a lower yield, adjust to that.)

Taste:

Trulieve’s C02 vape cart products are all made with natural cannabis-derived terpenes, so I expected the taste of them to be much better than their earlier vape carts, which are cut with MCT oil and food-grade terpenes. As I mentioned in the preceding paragraph, the Sunset Sherbert vape cart had me a little bit skeptical of how well Trulieve was going to be able to implement the cannabis-derived terpenes. Sunset Sherbert had a very earthy taste (to be blunt, it tastes like fresh soil), which can be accurate for some strains; however, the implementation in that particular product did not result in the most appealing taste.

I was pleased to find that the Green Crack CO2 cart had a completely different taste. It’s very fresh and “clean” tasting, moderately sweet, with the slightest hint of an herbal/earthy taste. Overall, it’s very pleasing, and I could see it becoming an issue for patients to dose more than usual with this product for that reason. Leafly mentions the three main tastes as “earthy, citrus, and sweet”. I would have to say that sweet was the primary tase of those three, citrus is not really present at all (at least for me), and the earthy taste was very subtle.

Vapor and Product Quality

The Trulieve CO2 carts are all CCell carts with the small rubber bands of various colors to denote which strain or ratio the cart is. Airflow is exceptionally good with these carts and possibly the best in the program that I’ve yet tried. The carts may look like they aren’t full; my Trulieve always has a package insert in my bag when I buy these carts that states the appearance of any lack of product is due to the efficient absorption of the CCell carts. These carts already seem to burn pretty fast due to how well the air flows, so I’m a little cautious about fully believing this, but online research seems to indicate this is true.

The vapor on this product always makes me cough. Every time. It doesn’t matter if I take a one second drag or if I inhale for five seconds – I am going to go into a coughing fit. This is strange for me because I generally have a good tolerance to cannabis products and rarely cough; perhaps some of the terpenes in Green Crack are causing this. I don’t necessarily find coughing to be a bad thing, though, as it seems I am always more efficiently medicated afterward vs. not coughing at all.

Vapor/Product Quaity Rating: 3.90/5.00

Effects:

I’m very pleased with the effects I’ve been getting from the Green Crack CO2 cart. This strain induces a very controlled, almost calm, focus. I find that I am able to organize and categorize my thoughts very well after medicating, leading me to believe that this product would be really good for patients looking for alternative treatment for ADD and ADHD. Green Crack does not necessarily give me a significant amount of euphoria, but it does leave me feeling generally calm and at ease, which is not what I would expect based off of the strain name. I honestly don’t know why this strain is called Green Crack, unless the flower brings on different effects; Jack Herer and Sour Diesel both have given me much more racy effects than Green Crack. The only sativa in the program that I’ve found to be an even more mellow sativa would be Colombian Gold.

The focus and productivity this strain brings is outstanding, though. I primarily vape Clementine Truclear during the day to help with my depression, anxiety, and occasional ADD symptoms; after trying this Green Crack vape cart, I may have a close contender for my main daytime medication in the near future. The only superiority that I would say I find in Clementine is its euphoric qualities seem to be more notable and better for treating depression. The effects from the Green Crack CO2 vape cart are definitely top tier.

Effects Rating: 4.40/5.00

Overall Rating: 4.10/5.00

The Green Crack CO2 Vape Cart from Trulieve is a product that I would best describe as “exceptionally good”. The one thing that would make this product even better would be a price reduction down to $40 or $45; I am really hoping that victories in court trials on the unconstitutionality of the current Florida medical cannabis law will drive prices across the state downward in 2019. Other than that, I’d definitely recommend giving this product a try.
